Looks nice, but I already have my own mail server (Exchange 2003) and it works perfectly, with Outlook Web Access and ActiveSync to my Windows Mobile smartphone. :)

The only one that comes to mind is comedian/actor Rowan Atkinson did the adverts for them in the UK.

This comes to prove that the majority of users actually aren't that dumb... They are smart enough to wait a couple of months for a new/better product... Good for them... I love Apple but the cdma iP4 did come too late...

i've sort of dismissed the iphone rumors in past, but the ichat connection makes it sound like something that could well be and soon. but the wifi phone sounds like an effort to build up ichat. why not?
I've never been able to understand how a WiFi phone could be a success before WiFi networks become pervasive and virtually free. How could you use a WiFi phone in your car, for instance? And what's the point of having iChat on your phone when you can only use it in the currently few and limited WiFi-enabled areas?

Thank you, Apple, for weeding out the companies whose business model depends on selling my information to junk-mailers.
This is the kind of 'crazy-Steve-Jobs-control' I can live with.
How hard is it to uncheck these two boxes?

And other publications, like The Economist, already come with the equivalent boxes unchecked by default.

This is great. I recall a year ago that a few of us were at a friends house playing Tecmo Bowl. Another friend, who isn't a gamer and stuck in books, looked up and said this is funny. You guys have a Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, HDTV, 7.1 surround sound and you're having a blast playing a 20 year old game that looks like crap.
Kinda like this Atari thing. Powerful mobile phone that can do Unreal engine based games, yet people are thrilled for Atari games. Pretty funny and cool. Fun is fun right?

there is no "sent from my iPhone" or iPad, so this may be false
So I guess steve isn't aloud to use a mac?
As for the topic... Meh, who cares? They're cheap ipads. I wish there was a way I could get an iPad on the cheap here in the uk.

Turn your EQ into a smile, remove all the mids and boost the tops and bass for that (rather horrid) crunchy, digital sounding distortion.
Sorry, not a fan of that sort of guitar sound really, it always sounds too processed and a little 'phoney', if that's the right way to describe it.
Good luck with the project though, it's always nice to hear people getting into audio work :)

Sounds like everything Apple just went through with Antenna-Gate and the White iPhone 4. It happens to everyone.
I don't think this is the case. RIMM is not doing well.

Shares of Research In Motion Limited (TSE: RIM) fell by 15.1% or $-8.13/share to $45.7. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $44.94 and as high as $73.98. On average, 1956300 shares of RIM.TO exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 8273998. The shares are currently trading below the 50-day and 200-day moving averages which indicates that the shares have been experiencing downward momemtum. The stock may bounce back to test the 200-day moving average. Thus, you may want to pay close attention for a move up to the $55.63 area but be careful because the stock may face selling pressure at this level.

Are you calling jailbreaking a "kid" activity?
No... not at all. But I think it's a choice and it's silly to complain about it when you know updates may or will break the JB. Patches and updates are needed and common. So why complain every time a patch comes out and make silly acquisitions that Apple is just messing with the JB community.

I like how they can track individual users (scares me).
After reading the the cool new name "iTrack 4", it sounds like a spy phone from a James Bond movie... Sinister!
That's a bad ass name :)
"The FBI planted an iTrack in the suspects car"
Hollywood will love it.
LMAO

You can get this already (along with Tab dragging and dropping) in Safari by getting SAFT:
http://www.pimpmysafari.com
Other free plugins might also have it, but Saft is so good I never bothered to check anything else.
SAFT is a rockstar. I can't imagine using Safari without it. Frankly, I'd be happy if Apple integrates even half of what SAFT provides.

And I'll just admit I'm not upset cause this doesn't affect me, I don't do early upgrades. Talk to me when they increase the price of the regular upgrade fee.
And honestly, there is such thing called inflation which sadly is happening a lot here. They're costs are going up so it's going to reflect in their prices. Right now they're apparently trying to mitigate it with costs to people who are doing what most people consider a luxury upgrade (being able to break contract early with no penalty and an incentive by having a slighty cheaper phone).
I notice they're not affecting those who are no longer under contract (probably cause they still want to encourage that where as they have less incentive to encourage people to re-sign after a year since they still have them in a contract for a year).
It's called running a business, realizing your prices are going up so you need to reflect that on to the customers (They're not a charity), and deciding where best to do price increases that won't chase off their customers.
And for those pissed off and leaving for Verizon, from what I understand Verizon doesn't even allow early upgrades. So I fail to see if you are upset about early upgrade pricing going up, how Verizon will fix that. Cause with them your "early upgrade" will be the full price of the phone.

Apple...
You are/were 1 to 2 years late with putting out this Verizon iPhone.
Android has gained adoption...
Exactly. People weren't going to sit around and wait, and not many were willing to switch to AT&T with how great Verizons coverage is, and how poor AT&T's is.

I'm giving Onyx a try, but my first problem is that three menu bar app's I use only show up on the menu bar when Onyx is selected.
I use Tiger Launch, Bluephone Elite, and Backlight. THese now show up on the left side of the menu bar when Onyx is being used and don't show at all otherwise. Any way to correct this?

There's 2 jailbreak apps for this. One creates a daemon that constantly deletes the location files. Another onewipes out the location history and then does a wipeout of each location currently.
A lot of people are saying this is no big deal. According to the hacker that found this out, a hacker can hack onto the computer that the backup is located on and find out all of your locations.
All the people saying, "I don't sell drugs so I have nothing to worry about" or "I have nothing to hide" are probably the same people who voted for homeland security.......and we can all see how good that was...NOT.
